Exercise 3 – Loop example and chart

Objective

  • Learn how to make repetitive measurements

  • Learn about charts

  • Learn how to program timed measurements

  • Create a sub VI

In the last exercise, you have to repetitively run the program to make different measurements. In this exercise, you will make use of the While Loop to do it. Charts are a great way to display such data as we are able to observe trends.

Front Panel

  1. Open your previously saved Data Acquisition Ex 2.vi. You will add controls to arrive at the following front panel.

  1. Insert Waveform Chart from Control->Graph palette.

Modify the properties of the chart so that it looks like the one above. Right click on the chart area. A pop up menu appears. Select Properties. The Chart Properties Window appears.
