Exercise 9 – Improved Airconditioning Control (challenge exercise)

Objective

Reinforce understanding of

  • analog input

  • analog output

  • sub VI

  • digital output

Problem

With the rising oil prices, price for electricity has risen too. To reduce electricity consumption, Jeffrey wants his room air conditioning to operate only when he is sleeping at night and when the temperature exceeds a preset temperature.

Write a LabVIEW VI that meets Jeffrey’s requirement. Use the Green LED to represent the air conditioning turning on and off.

Tips:

  • Use the Lux subvi you have created

  • Create a Temperature sub VI from the Thermistor Exercise.

  • Use the digital VI from the Pedestrian Exercise to turn on and off the LED.
