Front Panel
Let us focus first creating the user interface. The front panel should look like the following

Create
a meter called Lux. Right click on your mouse on the front panel to
display the Controls palette. When you move the mouse over the
numeric icon, a numeric subpalette appears.
Click on the numeric control and drop it onto the Front Panel. Type Lux immediately or the numeric control will take a default name. If you need to make changes to the name, doubleclick on the name and type in the new name.

The meter has a default range of 0 to 10. For the light intensity measurement, we will likely measure in the range of 0 to 1000 Lux. From the tools palette, select Edit Text. Click on 10 on the meter and modify the upper limit to 1000
Right mouse click on the meter, and select Visible Items >> Digital Display to reveal to the digital display
Convention note:
Subsequent instructions will use the following as a short cut to describe where to look for the appropriate control or function. For help to locate the meter control shown above, we will use
Insert Meter
from Control -> Numeric palette
We will use the same short cut to show how to locate functions in the case you are in the block diagram. All exercises will show first how to design the Front Panel followed by the Diagram
