Exercise 6 – Build your Light Intensity Logger (optional exercise)

Objective

  • Learn Decoration controls

You will now use your knowledge of LabVIEW and Data Acquisition learnt from the previous exercises to build the data logger that you ran in Exercise 1.

Front Panel

  1. Open a new VI. Build the following front panel.

    Hint: To beautify the front panel use the Control->Decorations palette and the coloring Tool from the Tool Palette

Block Diagram

  1. Build the diagram on your own. If you run into difficulties, refer to the previous exercises or the LabVIEW Help. As a last resort, you can refer to the Light System Demo.vi

  2. When you have completed the diagram, save the VI as My Light System Demo.vi

  3. Click the Run button to run the VI. Shine a torch light to the LDR to create different light intensity and observe the result

  4. Press to stop the VI.

  5. Close the VI.
